the Food and Drug Department, established in 2016 as a merge of the Department of Pharmacy and the Department of Food Sciences, is the ideal place where developing a training path in food and pharmaceutical sciences, two areas where the Parma’s region expresses the highest excellence.
The Food and Drug Department will allow you to choose among a wide didactic offer, in an environment strongly focused towards research, improvement of your professional qualification and easy work placement in an extremely developed industrial context.
The Food and Drug Department offers two five-years degrees, in Pharmacy and Chemistry and Technology of Drugs (CTF), which allow the graduate to qualify for the profession of pharmacist and chemist across EU. Furthermore, our graduated students have an attractive profile in disciplines such as pharmaceutics, cosmetics and nutraceutics, just to name a few.
The Department also offers two three-years degree in Science and Technology of Food, and in Gastronomic Sciences, and a two-years additional degree (Laurea Magistrale) in Science and Technology of Food which qualifies for the profession of Food Technologist. These degrees are intended to train a professional with robust background in several disciplines related to food, such as chemistry, microbiology, technology, nutrition and economics.
Students interested in higher formation, will find PhD, master, and specialization courses available at the Department.
