Six students of the fourth class, Course of Chemistry and Applied Biotechnologies, Industrial Technical Institute "Leonardo da Vinci", under the guidance of Prof. Giuliano Pecorelli, were welcomed at the Department of Pharmacy to carry out stages of "Alternating School -Working".For two weeks, March 3 to 13 boys were able to get a taste of life of university students with the opportunity to live a direct experience in the laboratories of the Department of Pharmacy. This initiative was also a valuable opportunity to acquire useful elements for the future choice of the degree course. After an introduction on Safety Standards and Behaviour to be kept in laboratories, presented by Prof Arturo Arduini, president of the Center for Health Services, Health and Safety in the workplace of the University, with the participation along with other students in internships at the Departments of Chemistry and Biosciences, are followed activities in the various research laboratories of the Department of Pharmacy, organized by responsible Guidance, Prof. Paola Vicini. The students were able to follow some of the activities that take place in the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Technology of the Prof. Ruggero Bettini, where we study solid dosage forms intended for the oral administration, powders for inhalation suministración of drugs and new polymeric systems for the regeneration of tissues and organs . In the Laboratory of Organic Synthesis and Analysis Pharmaceutical have witnessed synthesis experiments and analysis of compounds with potential biological activity, under the guidance of Professors Claudio Curti and Federica Vacondio. In the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the Prof. Andrea Mozzarelli have operated to produce recombinant proteins and to characterize the functional properties by enzymatic assays and spectroscopic methods.
