Tutoring - FOOD Area

Tutoring is an activity aimed at "guiding and assisting students throughout their curriculum, encouraging them to actively participate in the educational process and removing obstacles that prevent the successful completion of courses, including through initiatives tailored to the needs, aptitudes and requirements of individuals". (Law 341/90, Art. 13: Reform of University Educational Regulations).


"Tutoring offices cooperate with the bodies that support the right to education and student representatives, contributing to the general cultural needs of students and their full participation in university activities." (Art. 13 Law 341/1990)

Tutoring activities are also carried out with the participation of "deserving and capable students enrolled in second-cycle degree courses, specialization schools for the legal professions, specialization schools for secondary school teachers and PhD programs," in accordance with the provisions of the law and through the publication of specific calls for applications. (Art. 1 of Decree Law No. 105 of May 9, 2003 - Urgent Provisions for Universities and Research Institutions, converted with amendments into Law No. 170 of July 11, 2003).

Tutors then provide assistance and support throughout the course of study.

The "Adopt-a-Student" freshman tutoring office is carried out by senior students and female students for the benefit of first-time freshmen. Tutors perform the following functions:

Residence hall guidance for Food Area CdLs

Student assistance: deal with providing information to high school students for support in choosing the academic pathway, assisting students in first-cycle degree courses to provide information they require, assisting students in choosing the internship pathway and in the first-cycle degree course.
