The proper management of special wastes represents a fundamental element to ensure human safety, environmental protection and compliance with current regulations.

In the context of the Department of Food and Drug at the University of Parma, teaching, research and laboratory activities involve the production of special chemical and biological wastes that require specific procedures for their treatment, storage and disposal.

A technical guide has been prepared with the aim of providing students, professors, researchers and technical-administrative staff with a supportive, up-to-date and operational tool for the management of special waste generated in the Pharmacy Building.

Through practical guidance, definitions, responsibilities and detailed instructions on how to manage the special waste generated, the guide aims to promote conscious and uniform behaviors.

Application of the correct procedures contributes to the maintenance of a safe and compliant working environment, while reinforcing the University of Parma's commitment to sustainability and responsible management of its activities.

This manual may be subject to updates and modifications following the development dynamics of the Department, the University, and any changes in current regulations.

Templates of the labels to be affixed to the containers

In this section are available the descriptive labels related to the EER codes of the special wastes most frequently generated by the teaching and research laboratories of the Pharmacy plexus.

The files are in WORD format so editable.

It will be the responsibility of the laboratory to indicate in the appropriate fields the SIPE code and the name of the RADRL.

An example of a label is given:

Each laboratory can independently download, fill in and print labels for the EER codes of interest.

For cardboard boxs there is no descriptive label to be applied as part of the information is already pre-printed on them, however, the manufacturer's data part printed on the "lid" of the cardboard box must be filled in.

The ADR and black R stickers on a yellow background, on the other hand, are to be obtained from the plexus warehouse through the appropriate Depot platform.
